Palermo Polo Faceguard
Price: £49.95
The Palermo polo
helmet by Charles Owen has been developed following recent serious injuries and
with the competitive polo player in mind, offering unparalleled safety with
ultimate style.
Built for the
rigours of the high speed sport, the slimline, low profile helmet, features
front and rear ventilation holes for a cool head from chukka to chukka. The
Coolmax™ mesh wicks perspiration away from the skin. The super soft headband is
embedded with high tech silver ions to give built-in antimicrobial protection,
keeping it hygienic and free from smells.
For increased protection the snug fitting, suede lined harness incorporates an
impact absorbent panel to BETA Level 1 Body Protector standard at the nape of
the neck, to give added protection from the unseen ball or mistimed mallet. The
harness provides an unrivalled, comfortable and secure fit, which ensures the
helmet stays locked to the head in the most of competitive games.
The wool covered
Palermo features a large peak to shield the eyes, a traditional top strap and a
polo themed embroidered band completes the helmet. It is provided with fixings
for a removable black faceguard, available as an extra and made with a high tech
alloy impact absorbing construction.
Charles Owen is
the only manufacturer to produce polo helmets to an approved safety standard
that can be sold legally in Europe. The Palermo is certified and Kitemarked by
BSI to BSEN1384 and PAS015, making it the safest choice of polo helmet.

Please note : A helmet is lined with microscopic bubble wrap.
The bursting of the bubbles absorbs the impact. The hard shell spreads the area
of contact over a much larger load bearing area. Helmets should be replaced
after a blow to the head, especially if the wearer loses consciousness. The
expected life span of a helmet for the average rider is five years
