This is a traditional style hat, covered with a thick pile Italian velvet,
fitted with a neat padded soft leather, deerskin coloured harness. It
achieved the Your Horse Product Award, Best Safety Product 2003.
Charles Owen have incorporated an energy absorbing peak into their popular hat
range, making it safer than most jockey skulls. This technological breakthrough
has enabled riders to retain a smart and traditional appearance, whilst
remaining safe. The beliefs of many peak loving traditionalists have been
confirmed!
The Showjumper XP has a slightly lower profile than previously with a shallower
peak yet retains the classical deep fit with a soft edged leather harness.
Available in sizes 6 - 8. Kitemarked to PAS015, BSEN1384. Also Certified by SEI
to ASTM F1163 in sizes 63/8 - 8
Available in Black, Navy, but can special order at an extra cost of £5 - Brown,
Green, Elephant grey.

Please note : A helmet is lined with
microscopic bubble wrap. The bursting of the bubbles absorbs the impact. The
hard shell spreads the area of contact over a much larger load bearing area.
Helmets should be replaced after a blow to the head, especially if the wearer
loses consciousness. The expected life span of a helmet for the average rider is
five years
